Make your floor plan clickable

Make your floor plan clickable

From a static to a dynamic floor plan? You just do that yourself! Our advice: wait until your floor plan is final and all content - for example about your exhibitors - is available (or at least has been created) within the app. After that, creating a clickable floor plan is really a piece of cake!

Where can you find your floor plan?

The floor plan is a page within your Vaya Visitor App. You can find this in the CMS of your app via CONTENT in the left bar. Click Pages. You will then see an overview of all pages created for your app. The floorplan is an Image / Floor plan type page.

Edit floor plan

Click on the pencil and you will open the content manager of this specific page.

Add a clickable area

Now scroll all the way down to Clickable areas and click on the plus button on the right.

 Add clickable area

You can now add a clickable area within your floorplan. In the example below we will add the Invitado stand and go through the following five steps:

  1. Add the name of the area. In this case it is Invitado.
  2. You can select a color overlay or enter a (hexadecimal) color code. In this case we leave it blank and the area remains 100% transparent.
  3. You draw the area and indicate that you want to use these coordinates via Use coordinates.
  4. You now can link the area to:

    • A page within the app (Page)
    • A bucket item within the app (Entity item)
    • An external web page (URL)

We choose the second option and link the area to the item Invitado from the bucket Exposanten (Exhibitors).

Good to know: It is possible to link one area to multiple targets. In the app, an overview of linked targets will be shown.

  5. We confirm (via Save & add another area, Save & add another targetSave or Apply).
We choose Save and return to the Floor plan page.

This process may seem complicated, but it is not. In the management environment it looks like this::

Create stand

Curious how it works out within the app environment? Watch it - preferably on your mobile - in our demo app!
