Discount codes

Puerto Registration System includes an advanced discount code module. Whether you want to use one fixed discount code or a unique, one-time use code per guest, you can easily set it up. Once set up, Puerto does the rest. You can see exactly how often the codes have been used and for which orders from the overview page. To the right place in Puerto

It takes a bit of scrolling, but there it is: in the light gray bar, under the heading ORDERS, you will find the item Discounts, almost at the bottom. If you click on this, you will open the overview page.

Create a new discount

Zoals overal in onze software, genereer je een nieuw item met de plus-button in de rechter bovenhoek van het overzicht. In dit geval heeft deze button heeft de tooltip 'Add discount'. Als je hierop klikt, opent het scherm New discount.

Use the fields in this form to give shape to your discount.

• Name – Give the discount a name that is clear to you and specific to you. Especially if multiple discount campaigns are created, it is useful to be able to distinguish between them.
• Application – Here you can choose whether the discount applies to the total order or to one or more specific products. If you select Specific product, a new pulldown will appear, in which you can select the relevant products. Tip: if you hold down the control key, you can easily select multiple products.
• Type – Is the discount a fixed amount (for example €50.00) or a percentage (for example 20%)?
• Amount – The amount of the discount. Only enter the value here, without the euro or percentage sign. Any figures after the decimal point? No problem!
• Maximum reuses per code – With this optional field you indicate how often the code can be used. For example, once for a unique code, or 500 times if you want to limit the use of a general code.

And that's about it. By clicking Save or Apply, you have created your first discount. If you choose Apply, you can immediately start creating the codes that belong to this discount.

¡Atención!
If you select a fixed discount (the €50.00 from the example above, for example) and it applies to multiple products, the discount amount will be charged to each of those products.

Add or generate codes

If you want to provide the discount campaign you just created with one or more codes, you can choose from two different plus icons in the Codes overview:

We start with the second plus sign. With this you can manually add a code yourself. ERNESTODISCOUNT20 for example. You can add as many codes as you want per discount.

With the first, circled plus sign you let Puerto come up with the codes for you. This is a useful option, especially if you want to assign unique codes per guest. Indicate the desired length of the code, and the number of codes you want to create. Then click Generate codes to generate new codes and add them to the discount.

Good to know: created discount codes can be used immediately. Codes that are no longer valid can be deleted manually.

Export discount codes

You can export the active discount codes in two places. If you do this on the Discounts overview page, you export all active discount codes. If you export the codes from the code overview of a specific discount, you only export the codes created for this discount. In both cases, click on the export icon next to the plus button at the top of the overview.
