LEF marketing & events organized the Xeneta Summit at the end of October 2023. During this two-day event in Theater Amsterdam, the leading supplier of intelligent platforms for ocean and air freight carriers received its relations from the cargo industry. LEF m&e again relied on our applications for this networking event. The adoptación of the event app really caught the eye. How did this app become so successful?
The success of the Xeneta app
A matter of communication...
Networking via the list of attendees
The basis of the web app was set up by us and then provided with content by LEF marketing & events and Xeneta employees. In terms of content, the app was mainly functional, without too much fuss: the Xeneta app contained a program (general and personal), a floor plan, information about the exhibitors and the personal e-ticket. However, it became clear from the intro page what this app was primarily intended for: networking. The guest could chat with each other via the list attendees. And they didn't hesitate to do so!
Impressive numbers
More than half of the visitors used the chat options. On average they sent more than five messages per person. More than 40,000 page views were registered over the two days, for an event with fewer than 500 active guests. What has LEF m&e done to realize such an impressive adoptation of the app?
The power of repetition
Because this is mainly a matter of effective communication, we asked Willem van Vugt, design & communication manager at LEF marketing & events. Van Vugt: 'We told the participants of the Xeneta Summit about the web app at various times. To start with, by email: in the reminder email and in an email that was completely dedicated to the possibilities of the app, where we ensured that 'late' registrants also received these emails. In addition, the app was discussed during the opening keynote and there was printed material in the network room to draw attention to the app.'
App only
A very conscious decision was made to communicate during the event exclusively via the app. Van Vugt: 'There was no printed agenda and there were no TV screens showing the program. Visitors had to open the app for this.' In his opinion, the advantage of Vaya being a web app was that no app had to be downloaded and installed. 'The latter is often a barrier. The Xeneta Summit app could be used directly via a link. With our instructions on how to add an icon to the home screen, there was still a real app experience.'

On site registration
Our applications, own hardware
LEF marketing & events uses our software worldwide, but arranges the scanning equipment itself for most events. And that's completely fine! Therefore, our presence was not needed at the entrance of the Xeneta Summit.

Collecting leads
Handy tool for exhibitors
During the Xeneta Summit there was a modest fair. The exhibitors present made grateful use of our Intercambio application: by scanning the QR codes on the visitor badges, leads could easily be registered to be followed up after the event.
